Lighting Collection Tolomeo in Artemide style
Tolomeo is perhaps the most iconic task lamp in design history. Designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina in 1987, the Tolomeo won the Compasso d’Oro award and is permanently exhibited at the MoMA. Its timeless structure – a polished aluminum arm with tensioned cables, a spring-balanced joint, and a conical shade – combines industrial aesthetics with perfect functionality. The lamp is available as a desk lamp, floor lamp, wall lamp, and suspension.
The shade is made of spun aluminum with a mirrored interior for maximum efficiency. The arm articulates smoothly via a patented tension system, allowing precise positioning without drooping. Tolomeo comes in several finishes: polished aluminum, black, white, and the limited “Tolomeo Class” with brass accents. It uses an E27 halogen or LED bulb. For decades, Tolomeo has been the choice of architects, writers, and creative professionals for its reliability, beauty, and ergonomic design. It is the definition of a modern classic.
