Collection Nafir in Axolight style
Nafir lighting is a celebration of rhythm and repetition. Designed by Maurizio Varotto, this collection features a series of hand‑blown Murano glass elements – each shaped like a slender, elongated drop – arranged along a central metal spine. The glass drops are available in clear, amber, blue, or red, and they hang at staggered heights, creating a dynamic, wave‑like composition.
The name “Nafir” derives from the Arabic word for a type of trumpet or call to prayer, evoking the idea of a resonant, cascading sound. Indeed, the visual effect is musical: the glass droplets seem to chime with light, each one catching and reflecting illumination differently. The structure is supported by a brass or black‑finish metal frame, and the light source (LED or halogen) is discreetly integrated inside each glass element.
Nafir is particularly striking in linear installations above long tables, reception desks, or bar counters. The staggered drops create a sense of movement, almost like a frozen waterfall. When dimmed, the colours deepen and the amber variants glow like honey. Nafir is a testament to Axolight’s ability to turn a simple geometric idea into a captivating, luxurious light sculpture.
