Lighting 76 series in Bocci style
Series 76 is one of Bocci’s most exuberant and organic designs. Each pendant consists of a cluster of hand-blown glass bubbles that burst outward from a central canopy like a peony in full bloom. The bubbles are not spherical; they are irregular, elongated, sometimes fused together, creating a complex three-dimensional form that catches light from every direction. Inside each bubble, a small LED or halogen lamp glows, while the glass itself is treated with a delicate white or clear finish that softens the light.
The construction is a marvel of handcraft: each bubble is individually blown, then attached to a central stem by a skilled artisan, who must work quickly before the glass cools. The result is a chaotic yet harmonious bouquet of light – no two pieces are identical. The canopies are available in round or square shapes, and the bubbles can be arranged in circles, fans, or cascades.
When lit, Series 76 projects a constellation of small, bright points surrounded by soft halos, creating a starry canopy overhead. It is dramatic, romantic, and slightly whimsical. The density of bubbles can be customized – from a modest spray to an explosion of dozens of globes. Ideal for high-ceilinged lobbies, grand staircases, or event spaces, Series 76 makes a statement that is both natural and futuristic, like a luminous sea creature or a cluster of soap bubbles frozen in time.
