Collection Manto lighting in style Axolight
Manto is a poetic interpretation of a cloak or mantle. Designed by Daniel Libeskind, this collection features a large, sculptural shade that appears to wrap around the light source like a folded fabric. The shade is made of hand‑blown Murano glass, but with a matte, opaque finish that mimics the softness of textile. The form is irregular – one side higher, one side lower – creating a dynamic, asymmetrical silhouette.
Inside, the light is reflected off the inner surface of the “mantle,” producing a warm, diffused glow that spills out from the opening. The result is a light that feels protective and intimate, like a campfire under a canopy. Manto is available as a single pendant, a floor lamp, or a wall sconce, each variation maintaining the same dramatic, enveloping form.
The collection is named after the Latin word for “cloak,” and indeed each fixture seems to drape its light with care. The glass is available in deep blue, soft grey, or warm ivory, allowing the piece to integrate into various colour palettes. Manto is ideal for creating a focal point in a living room, a cosy reading corner, or an art‑filled entryway. It is a piece that commands attention without being aggressive – a masterwork of liquid‑solid illusion.
