Lighting 21 series in Bocci style

Series 21 is a celebration of raw materials and the tension between the organic and the mechanical. At its heart is a hand-blown glass sphere, but here the glass is not the only protagonist. The light source – an incandescent lamp or LED – is housed in a small, perforated copper capsule that dangles inside the glass, suspended by a thin copper wire. The capsule itself becomes a luminous object, with light escaping through its tiny holes in starburst patterns, while the glass diffuses the rest into a soft halo.

The copper is left untreated, so it will naturally oxidize and patina over time, changing from bright orange-brown to deep greenish-brown – a living finish that records the passage of years. The glass can be clear, matte, or a subtle “crackle” texture, but the true magic is in the interplay of the glowing copper core and the transparent shell. When dimmed, the capsule glows like a hot ember; at full brightness, it becomes a tiny sun.

Series 21 is available as a single pendant or in multi-point configurations. Each pendant can be adjusted in height individually, allowing for sculptural arrangements that mimic a swarm of fireflies or a constellation of copper hearts.
