Lighting 57 series in Bocci style
Series 57 is a departure from spherical forms, exploring the fluidity of glass in its molten state. Each pendant consists of a single, hand-blown ribbon of glass that has been twisted, folded, and arranged into an elegant, three-dimensional loop. The glass ribbon can be clear, white, or coloured, and its surface is intentionally left with ripples, folds, and small air bubbles that catch light in unexpected ways.
Inside the glass ribbon, a thin, flexible LED strip or a small halogen lamp is embedded, so that the light travels through the glass mass, emerging at edges and curves. The effect is that of a glowing organic form – like a frozen ribbon of liquid light. The shape is different every time, as the artisan works the molten glass by hand, allowing gravity and breath to dictate the final form.
Series 57 is often hung alone as a statement piece, or in pairs to create a dialogue between two ribbons. It is deliberately fragile-looking, yet the glass is strong. It works best in spaces that need a focal point – above a dining table, in a gallery, or at the end of a hallway. The light it casts is warm, scattered, and deeply atmospheric. Series 57 is for those who appreciate glass as a living, breathing material – not a static object, but a captured moment of creation.
